Sometimes painful life experiences make for wise career choices. Such is true for Christina Terrell, an associate attorney with Miles Mason Family Law Group's Nashville-Brentwood office. Terrell, who joined the firm in 2007, found herself in a personal predicament when she went through her own divorce with three young children to take care of.

Professionally, however, she used her experience as a way to help others going through a similar situation.

"After my divorce, I realized the need for someone with insight, such as myself, to advocate on behalf of others," Christina says. "Divorce can be emotional and messy – you need someone who is going to be able to sort everything out for you."

And Christina is just the person to do that, serving as lead counsel for many family law, divorce, child support and custody matters. A member of the Nashville, Williamson County, Tennessee and American Bar Associations' Family Law Sections, Christina also serves on several committees.

After attending her children's various academic and athletic activities, spare time is a rare commodity for Christina. She makes it a point, however, to give back to the community whenever she can, whether she is pursuing mission trips to help others through her church or offering advice as a leader in a single moms' class.

"I am dedicated to arming people with the information and tools they need to deal with complicated issues involving family law," Christina says. "I truly can relate to my clients. When I say, ‘I know what you're going through', it resonates."
