Julia Williams may not yet be Julia Child, but her love of cooking, as well as law, appears to be a recipe for success. Miles Mason agrees, “Just like in family law, cooking takes patience and attention to detail. To excel as a family lawyer, you must be smart and tough. Julia is both.”
Julia’s work in the kitchen is mirrored with her work at the Junior League of Memphis as well. One of the projects she was deeply involved in was Kids in the Kitchen (KIK). KIK is a international Junior League-wide initiative to help decrease childhood obesity and its associated health issues.
One of the events included a cooking demonstration focusing on the food pyramid and healthy portion sizes.
Julia is also actively involved with The Dixon’s Young at Art steering committee, which plans events to encourage young people to become more involved in the arts.
Originally from Senatobia, Miss., Julia graduated cum laude from the University of Mississippi Law School.
During her time in law school, Julia obtained impressive legal experience, from obtaining a litigation internship with FedEx to clerking at several law firms.
"Family law is so attractive to me because it involves balance and fairness," Julia says.
"These situations are usually painful and rife with emotion. It is my job to get the best results."
